Going a Step Above the Rest
G&M Service’s contracting staff is required to attend safety training as a part of their new-hire orientation, and no contracting employee goes into work without at least being OSHA certified. All contractors and field supervisors are required to have OSHA 30 training. G&M also maintains a full-time safety manager dedicated to monitoring safety compliance for every employee. To keep our safety-minded focus, our safety manager will perform formal monthly training sessions and weekly toolbox discussions to keep all employees updated on new protocols and technology.

Dealing with it safely, according to OSHA, requires extensive training in safety protocols to help protect all workers. As a core-drilling and contracting contractor, the dangers of silica and the long-term health effects are a serious concern for our employees. As a part of new-hire onboarding and training, all field employees are trained in the dangers of silica in construction environments. G&M Services uses some engineered controls like the OSHA “Table A” protocols to control any silica dust located on the job site. The company also performs an annual fit-testing and health checks on all concrete operations employees to make sure that they’re using the right PPE and are staying healthy throughout their time with the company. G&M Services is one of the first companies to fully take on OSHA Silica Standards well before they were issued formally and continues to work to stay ahead of the curve through extensive research and consistent interactions with different safety organizations.
