A Step Above the Rest
G&M Service’s contracting staff is required to go to safety training as a part of our new-hire orientation, and no contracting employee will go to work without at least being OSHA certified. All field supervisors or contractors are required to have OSHA 30 training, which we provide. G&M Services also maintains a full-time safety manager dedicated to monitoring each employee’s safety compliance. To help keep our safety-minded focus, our safety manager performs formal monthly training and other weekly toolbox discussions to keep all employees up to date on new technology and protocols.

Silicia is a crystal-like chemical that is found in construction materials like concrete, sand, mortar, and stone. Handling it safely, according to OSHA, will require extensive training in safety protocols to help protect all worksite employees. As a core-drilling contracting company, the dangers of silica and its long-term health effects are a legitimate concern for our employees. As a part of new-hire onboarding and training, all of the field employees are trained in the dangers of silica in a worksite environment. G&M Services uses engineered controls like an OSHA “Table A” protocol to control silica dust that might be located on your worksite. The company will also perform an annual fit testing and health check on all concrete operations for employees to ensure that they are using the proper PPE and are staying healthy throughout their time with G&M. We’re one of the first companies to fully take on OSHA Silica Standards before they were issued formally and continue to work to stay right ahead of the curve through continuous research and consistent interactions with various safety organizations.
