Spring Cleaning Your Commercial Concrete Patio

commercial concrete

Restaurant establishments that intend to keep their dining outdoors should consider spring cleaning their commercial concrete before the busy season ramps up.

Saturday, March 20th marked the official first day of spring. Is your commercial business ready for outdoor entertaining on your patio? Restaurant establishments that intend to keep their dining outdoors should consider spring cleaning their commercial concrete before the busy season ramps up. G&M Services advises regular cleanings of your commercial concrete throughout the season in order to maintain, care, and preserve your concrete for years to come. Here’s how.

Sweep Your Commercial Concrete

You’ll want to sweep your area free of any debris that has fallen throughout the past fall and winter months. This debris can be dirt, leaves, rocks, and miscellaneous natural elements that have fallen onto your space. Sweeping off your concrete can help create a space that’s ready to be cleaned like a professional. It’s heavily advised to sweep  prior to cleaning and placing any furniture within the contained space, especially if you’re a restaurant establishment putting down dining furniture.

Mix a Bucket of Warm Water with White Vinegar

After sweeping residual debris off, you’ll want to fill a bucket with half warm water and half white vinegar for heavy-duty cleaning. If you’re searching for something a little more mild than white vinegar, you can opt for a warm bucket of water with 1 part of a biodegradable cleaning solution. Pour out the mixture onto your concrete, let sit for up to fifteen minutes, and then take a scrubbing brush to any stubborn stains. For commercial concrete without staining, you can simply rinse with water and let air dry.

Avoid Pressure Washers for Small Jobs

For small cleaning jobs, you’ll want to take into consideration avoiding the use of a pressure washer. Pressure washers can chip away at concrete due to their industrial strength, so it’s important to stick to manual scrubbing of concrete at your commercial business. For more arduous jobs, stick to a pressure washer with the lowest amount of pressure available to try to avoid chips in your commercial concrete. Enjoy your spring season!
